Grand Christmas Celebration at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Manjeshwar

The Christmas celebration at "Our Lady of Mercy Church," Manjeshwar, was marked by a spectacular event on December 25, 2024. Organized by the church's administrative committee under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Edwin Francis Pinto, the program brought together the community in a spirit of joy, faith, and festivity.

The highlight of the evening was a play titled Drama "Kathene Bethe" performed by talented local artists. The event commenced at 7:00 PM and was infused with a lively atmosphere filled with music, drama, and cultural vibrancy.

Honor to the Play Director:

Following the play, the director of "Kathene Bethe" Mr. A.K.V Bendel , was honored by the church's Parish Priest Rev.Fr. Edwin Francis Printo, vice-president Mr. Vijith D’Souza, and secretary Mrs. Christin D’Souza. As a gesture of gratitude and recognition, the director was draped with a shawl and presented with a bouquet. This acknowledgment highlighted the director's significant contribution to the play's success and its impact on the audience.


Event Highlights:


The celebration began with a heartfelt prayer and a message from Rev.Fr. Edwin Pinto, emphasizing the essence of Christmas and its values of love, hope, and sharing.


The program featured captivating performances, including music directed by Mr. J.S. Karanth,  inchara music uppinagadi and cultural dances that added vibrancy to the evening.

The event saw active participation from the youth, parishioners, and notable dignitaries who graced the occasion with their presence.

Christmas Celebration Spreads Cheer Across Manjeshwar

The festive spirit of Christmas was in full swing as Our Lady of Mercy Church, Manjeshwar, hosted a heartwarming celebration on Christmas Eve. The event, marked by joy and generosity, aimed to spread the message of love and unity across the community.

The celebration was led by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Infant Jesus Ward Organized Tug-of-War Competitions and Pot Breaking Game.

Manjeshwar, December 15, 2024: The Infant Jesus Ward members organized an exciting day of games and activities at the church grounds to celebrate their ward feast. The event featured tug-of-war competitions and the traditional pot-breaking game, attracting enthusiastic participation from the church community.


In the men’s tug-of-war, Vailankanni Ward emerged victorious, while Nithyadhar Ward claimed the runners-up . 



For the women’s category, Nithyadhar Ward secured the win, followed by St. Theresa Ward as runners-up.

The breaking pot competition saw fierce competition. In the men’s category, Anil Monteiro of Vailankanni Ward clinched the first place, with Joswin D’Souza of Nithyadhar Ward taking second. Among the women, Celli D’Souza of Vailankanni Ward took the top spot.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Edwin Francis Pinto, who addressed the gathering and encouraged community spirit. Church Pastoral Council Vice President Mr. Vijith D’Souza, Secretary Mrs. Christin D’Souza, and Ward Gurkar Mrs. Reena Monteiro & ward representative Mrs. Wilma dsouza were also present. The program was beautifully anchored by Jayashree Monteiro, who also delivered the vote of thanks.

The vibrant celebration highlighted unity among the parishioners.

Team Manjeshwar Triumphs at Kasaragod Varado Women’s Cricket Tournament 2024

Kasaragod witnessed thrilling cricket action as the Kasaragod Varado Women’s Cricket Championship 2024, organized by the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), concluded on December 1. The grand event, held at Madonna AUP School grounds beside Our Lady of Dolours Church, saw Team Manjeshwar emerge victorious, clinching the championship trophy in a fiercely contested final.

Their exceptional teamwork and skill earned them the title, while the runners-up also displayed outstanding sportsmanship throughout the tournament. This event not only celebrated cricket but also fostered unity and camaraderie among the participants.

ಕಾಸರಗೋಡುದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು ವರಾಡೊ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಚಾಂಪಿಯನ್‌ಷಿಪ್ 2024 ರೋಮಾಂಚಕ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಕದನಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಯಿತು. ಇಂಡಿಯನ್ ಕಾಥೋಲಿಕ್ ಯೂತ್ ಮೂವ್‌ಮೆಂಟ್ (ICYM) ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾದ ಈ ವೈಭವದ ಇವೆಂಟ್ ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 1ರಂದು ಮಡೋನ್ನಾ AUP ಶಾಲಾ ಮೈದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ, ಕಾಸರಗೋಡ್ ಡೋಲರ್ಸ್ ಚರ್ಚ್ ಹತ್ತಿರ ನಡೆಯಿತು.


ಫೈನಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಠಿಣವಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಟ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ ತಂಡ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮದಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಅವರ ಅಪೂರ್ವ ತಂಡಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಗೆಲುವು ತಂದುಕೊಟ್ಟಿತು. ಉಪವಿಜೇತರೂ ಸಹ ತಮ್ಮ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನದಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮನ ಗೆದ್ದರು.
ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾದ ಈ ಟೂರ್ನಮೆಂಟ್ ಹಬ್ಬವು ಆಟಗಾರರಲ್ಲಿ ಏಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ನೇಹಸಂಬಂಧಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿತು.

Catholic Sabha (R), Manjeshwar Unit Hosts Elocution Competition

The Catholic Sabha (R) Mangalore, Manjeshwar Unit organized an elocution competition at the unit level on November 24, 2024, at 3:30 PM. The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Rev. Fr. Edwin Francis Pinto, the Parish Priest of Manjeshwar Church; Mr. Vijayit D'Souza, Vice-President of the Church Parish Council; Mrs. Christine D'Souza, Secretary of the Church Parish Council; and Mrs. Reena Monteiro, Coordinator of all Church Committees.

The competition also saw the presence of the judges, Dr. Steven D'Souza from Varkady and Ms. Renita Crasta from Mariashram.

Rev. Fr. Edwin Francis Pinto addressed the gathering, welcoming the participants and encouraging them with his inspiring words.

The competition was held in four categories: 2nd Grade, 3rd and 4th Grades, 5th to 7th Grades, and 8th to 10th Grades. A total of 15 children participated in the event, showcasing their elocution skills.

Mrs. Vilma D'Souza was the anchor for the event, while Mrs. Rekha Monteiro delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone present and acknowledging the efforts of the participants and organizers.

ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ, 24 ನವೆಂಬರ್ 2024: ಕಥೊಲಿಕ್ ಸಭಾ (ರಿ) ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ ಘಟಕವು ಭಾಷಣ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯನ್ನು 24.11.2024 ರಂದು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ 3.30 ಕ್ಕೆ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡಿತು. ಈ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗೆ ಅಥಿತಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಮಂಜೇಶ್ವರ ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಗುರುಗಳಾದ ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ಎಡ್ವಿನ್ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ, ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಪಾಲನಾ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಜಿತ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತಿನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ, ಚರ್ಚಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಯೋಗದ ಸಂಯೋಜಕಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರೀನಾ ಮೊಂತೇರೊ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. 

ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗೆ ತೀರ್ಪುಗಾರರಾಗಿ ವರ್ಕಾಡಿಯ ಡಾ. ಸ್ಟೀವನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಹಾಗೂ ಮರಿಯಾಶ್ರಮದ ಕುಮಾರಿ ರೆನಿಟಾ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ತ ಅವರು ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು.  

ವಂದನೀಯ ಫಾ. ಎಡ್ವಿನ್ ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ ಅವರು ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗೆ ನೆರೆದಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾಷಣ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.  

ಈ ಭಾಷಣ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆವು ನಾಲ್ಕು ವಿಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು:  

1. ಎರಡನೇ ತರಗತಿ  

2. 3rd ಮತ್ತು 4th ತರಗತಿ  

3. 5th ರಿಂದ 7th ತರಗತಿ  

4. 8th ರಿಂದ 10th ತರಗತಿ  

ಒಟ್ಟು 15 ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಈ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.  

ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯ ನಿರೂಪಣೆಯ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ವಿಲ್ಮಾ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದರು, ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರೇಖಾ ಮೊಂತೇರೊ ಅವರು ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಅಂತಿಮ ವಂದನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. 

ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯು ಒಂದು ಸಾರ್ಥಕ ಮತ್ತು ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಅನುಭವವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿತು, ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಹಾಕಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ದೊರಕಿತು.

Van Mahotsav organised by Catholic Sabha

Manjeshwar June 23, 2024: Our parish community gathered to celebrate Van Mahotsav, the annual tree-planting festival. This event was organized by Catholic Sabha Manjeshwar Unit, and it aimed at promoting environmental awareness and afforestation and saw enthusiastic participation from parishioners.



The celebration began with a prayer led by the parish priest, who emphasized the importance of preserving nature as a gift from God. 

A variety of saplings, including fruit-bearing, and native tree saplings were planted around the church backyard. Rev. Fr Edwin Francis Pinto one sapling each.

One sapling each for a family was also distributed to emphasize the collective responsibility of the community toward nurturing nature and contributing to a greener future.

Parish Council members, Catholic Sabha Manjeshwar unit members, ICYM Manjeshwar youths, and others were participated and planted saplings.
